Global Carrier Billing Summit has consistently connected all the key industry stakeholders in the carrier billing ecosystem, including mobile carriers, aggregators, content providers and digital merchants to share new ideas and build new partnerships.
In 2023 the summit is back in its new iteration "GCB and Mobile Payments Summit", which will analyse the whole mobile payments universe to predict the future of different payment methods, while analysing emerging solutions and monetisation strategies.
Gaiyo is the leading independent Dutch MaaS provider for both consumers and business. Mobility as a Service, or MaaS, is the ability to plan, book, travel and pay for all mobility with just one account and one app. Thijs is the first point of contact for third parties to work together to enable Mobility as a Service. For Gaiyo, he supports discussions with mobility service providers in the commercial and contract phase and with other third parties in payments, access to public transport, etc.. Partners appreciate the approach, open and no-nonsense attitude and working on solutions. Thijs represents Gaiyo at (inter)national conferences and presents Gaiyo's services and the results achieved. He is also active in developing new opportunities, e.g. within area development and the combination of MaaS and services around keeping events accessible.
Thijs graduated as a traffic engineer at the University of Twente and subsequently did his PhD research there. He researched the effect of traffic information on route choice behaviour, specifically during "special" traffic situations. After his PhD, he has combined ICT, mobility and travel behaviour in various roles. First from Capgemini where he was deployed to clients in various roles as analyst, architect and project manager. For the City of Amsterdam, he was the first point of contact for traffic management for national and regional cooperation, the necessary ICT development for traffic management in the city and for the strategic vision on traffic management. Lateron, he joined Connecting Mobility to draw attention of all governments in the Netherlands to the opportunities offered by ICT in traffic and travel behaviour. There, he organised several administrative master classes in the Netherlands and explicitly brought market parties and governments together to look at innovations on the basis of expected results. His substantive knowledge and wide network subsequently provided opportunities for the role as business development manager at Gaiyo
